Day 30 - Enjoying the rare sunshine. 

Day 29 - Coffee with a friend . . . what a great time to catch up for us and the boys!  These two come across as the shy, quiet ones, but when they get together you better watch out!

Day 28 -Not much of a day, this was my view from about 12 - 5 - Aaahhh!  And it was cold and snowy again.  I am working on some schedule changes so that doesn't happen again!  If only I could change the weather  . . .

Day 27 - This is what I do once a week - make the best pizza in (Jim)town! 

Day 26 - The older boys started a "reading buddy" progr

am with the preschool at our church today.  They all seemed to enjoy it.  They read and played games with their "buddy". 

Day 25 - I found this recipe for baked oatmeal - Yummy!  I love that you can make it the night before and then just put it in the oven in the morning.  I did substitute applesauce for veg. oil and am working on a sugar substitute for it.

Day 24  -Are you ready for some football?!

They all had to go put on a football jersey for the big game!

Supercalifragilisticexbealidocious . . .

Today our pastor posed a question that has stuck with me.  What is your favorite and least favorite word?  His were "yes" and "no".  At lunch we were discussing this as a family and L and I have the same favorite word - Supercalifragilisticexbealidocious.  It is such a fun word and could mean many things, but is pretty positive to me.  Now, if I had to pick a word I might use more frequently, I would probably pick "do".  To me it represents taking action.  As far as a least favorite, I would go with "can't".  I had a 4th grade teacher that taught us "Never say I can't, always say I'll try" and it has stuck with me over the years.  Maybe that is why I dislike "can't", it is sometimes said when an attempt hasn't even been made.  Charlotte Mason's motto is "I am, I ought, I can, I will".  Any thoughts as to what your favorite or least favorite words are?

PS  I forgot to mention L's least favorite word - ignore - he doesn't like the way it sounds and doesn't like it when he is ignored :(.

Day 23

Is it a bad sign if my son goes to the salon more than I do?

I went to upload the pictures tonight and found these - apparently, while I chatted with my sister on the phone, J had some fun watching N!  Her nose is starting to turn orange from all the butternut squash she is eating!

Day 22

Today we went to the Conservatory in South Bend with Grandpa.  If you've never been, it is well worth the small price of admission.  Especially on a gray winter day!  We are studying Botany and were on the lookout for some of the things we have learned already.  Here was one of the orchids they had.  The pics of the others didn't turn out :(.  Hopefully Grandpa got some good ones!

The Arizona desert room.  Not only is it warmer in here, full of cool plants, but it is in a dome which creates some fun acoustics.

Day 21

This is one of baby girl's favorite places to be:  the johnny jumper!

After a day of running around (car seat and being held for her), she can get out some energy!  We just always hope that she does NOT have to poop while in there!

And yes, it is a picture of our coffee maker.  Actually, our new coffee maker.  The old one started leaking about 2 weeks ago (after about 5 years) and apparently there had been a recall, so we mailed it to them and they sent us a brand new one!  Yeah Bunn!

Day 20

Well, I missed my first day :(.  But I'll keep going! 

We went out today to fix J's retainer (ran over by a car) and thankfully, they decided he didn't need it anymore!  Afterwards, we stopped to visit the cousins!  How nice it was just to hang out and visit.  We even got to enjoy a little sunshine - a rare commodity these days!

Day 14

J had his belt test today.  He was testing for his blue belt.  Hanging out before the big test.

Standing in show.  This is part of the test, to see if they can stay still and focused, but not pass out!

He did great!  In fact, they all did great!  Here they are in their new belts!

Day 13

Went to the doctor's office today for Baby Girl's check-up.  She weighs 16 lbs. 6 oz. and is 26 1/2 inches long and had to get some shots.  :(  I'm sure the sparkly band-aid made it feel better!

M took the picture of the bird at the doctor's office.  Does anyone else find that odd?

Day 12

6 months!  Can you believe it!  She is doing so much now.  She is eating 4/5 times a day, sleeps all night for about 12 hours (Yeah!), started cereal and rolls over (she can go from her back to stomach, then to back, all the way across the floor!).  She loves her brothers, they always bring a smile to her face.  They love her too, talking, playing, entertaining and helping out with her, each in their own special way.  Jake took this picture, too cute!

What else to do on a winter's day?  Bathtime, roller blading around the house, and a cup of tea with my mom.

Sunday evening:  playing Battleship and watching football.

A Day Out

We had to go out today . . .L's first art lesson at Hobby Lobby (which he loved!) and karate.  And I brought the camera along! This is what greeted us and it wasn't done snowing!  It has snowed all day and is still coming down!  I think the kids were ready up for the adventure.

While L was at art class, N took a nap, we browsed Hobby Lobby and had some fun:

Drivng through snow and slush, with icy wipers, temps in the teens and the snow still coming down, a little humor!?

Day 6

Ok, so they aren't as cut as N's, but they are so warm!  My Christmas present from the boys!

I just love these little socks! (And the chubby little legs!)  I couldn't resist taking some pics today.  I was playing around with Picasa 3 (I recently downloaded it to help me with my pictures) and these two were my favorites.  Let me know which one you like the best!
