Day 51
Today was a crazy day! We were finishing up academic fair projects, cleaning house, getting Baby Girl back on some sort of schedule, making birthday cards, meal planning and grocery shopping and oh, yeah our regular school work! All that and I had to grab the camera and snap a picture of the boys hanging out this evening so I would have something to post! Do you ever wonder where the day goes to? I am thankful that everything was accomplished with some time to spare! Well, I still have to go shower . . .

Monday's Mason
In reading through the Charlotte Mason home schooling series, I have come across many quotes, ideas that I have marked. I am going to start posting one a week (on Monday's) for myself and anyone else who might be interested. These are only tidbits - tiny morsels to chew on.
Volume 4, Part III, Chapter 1
"Love - Love, like a king, has his Lords in Waiting - Pity, Benevolence, Sympathy, Kindness, Generosity, Gratitude, Courage, Loyalty, Humility, Gladness. Have you ever thrown a stone into the water and watched the circles about it spread? As a matter of fact, they spread to the very shores of the pond or lake or sea into which you have thrown the stone; more, they affect the land on the further side. But those distant circles become so faint that they are imperceptible, while those nearest the point where you have thrown in the stone are clearly marked. So it is with our Love. It is as if, in the first place, our home were the stone thrown in to move our being; and from that central point the circle of our love widens until it embraces all men."

Day 46
Happy Valentine's Day!
This was the second year of celebrating Valentine's with a special meal. We get out the fancy dishes, light some candles and have a romantic family meal! Steak is always on the menu and this year we also had salad, twice baked potatos, asparagus and a heart cake for dessert. The boys started asking at the beginning of February if we were going to have our steak dinner again this year - I think it is officially a tradition now!

Day 45
Today, we went to B-man's first birthday party!
Why does he get the good stuff and all I get is squash?!
How else are you supposed to get all the air out of an inflatable palm tree?
Just wanted to throw in another one of Baby Girl, because she is lookin' so cute!

Day 44
Today we went to a Valentine's Day party with for our homeschool group. Overall, it went really well. M didn't participate in any of the group activities or games, this is not unusual for him. He doesn't want to and it doesn't seem to bother him that he isn't participating, so I try and not let it bother me. Here the older boys decorating their treat bags.
All ready to be filled!
M enjoying his cookie he decorated!

This dog cracks me up - he really thinks that I lay out a blanket on the floor for him!
N is thrilled because then she can reach out and touch him!
Day 32
On Mondays, Grandpa takes L to BSF. They usually go out to dinner first, so we had Grandpa and Grandma over for dinner. Grandpa's favorite - Cherry pie. Made with cherries picked from our trees last June. And, I got to make it in the new pie plate I received for Christmas!
Day 31
Sunday afternoon: playing some games. M is the Sequence champ (but would NOT be good at Poker)
J bought this game recently - Laser Battle. They love it and are great at it!
