Day 87

Ok, so last week was a really off week for Project 365.  I just wasn't feeling it.  I am going to try to do better this week, which is going to be interesting.  We've already had our house turned upside while a new water heater was being installed . . . and are getting ready to pay a visit to my sister!  This pic was taken at my nephew's birthday party on Sunday.  Baby girl and G and G Gorbics.

Sunday

Vol. 4 Chap. XIX, Principles:  Justice in Motive:

"Good principles are offered to us in an unobtrusive way, with little force and little urging.  Bad principles are clamorous and urgent, drowning the voice of conscience by noisy talk, inviting us to go the way we are inclined and to do the thing we like."

Vol. 4, Chapt.VI, Love's Lords in Waiting:  Generosity

Generous Impulses common to all the World: "The nature of Generosity is to bring forth, to give, always at the cost of personal suffering or deprivation, little or great.  There is no generosity in giving what we shall never miss and do not want; this is mere good-nature, and it is not even kindness, unless it springs out of a real thought about another person's needs."

8 months old!

Baby Girl is 8 months old!  She is getting so big!  She just started blowing
raspberries this week - too funny!

And here is M at about 8 months!  Look at all that hair!  He is turning
6 on Sunday!

I don't have pics of the older two boys, we weren't digital yet!  It'll take time
for me to round those up, maybe for her 9 month pic I'll have some to compare!

I'm so excited!  The sun was shining again today!

Isn't that wonderful?!

What?  It's gonna rain tomorrow?

Day 67

Can you spot the deer?  Sorry, I didn't have time to zoom, I was afraid I would miss the moment!  We were sitting in the living room by the front window playing Sorry (on a break from school this week) and J looked up and said "deer".  Not a deer, but 9 of them waiting to cross the road!  Luckily, they all made it across safely!

Day 63

For J's geography he is going through the book titled "Explore the Holy Land" by Ann Voscamp.  So far, one of his favorite things is the recipes she has put in the book from different locations.  We have made date balls - very messy and suprisingly yummy (sorry, I wasn't sure what to expect with dates) and hummus.  I have now added this recipe to my collection it is so good and easy!  J had made the first few batches, but now I think I'm on my own.

2 cloves of garlic, 1/4 cup each of water and lemon juice, 1 can chick peas/garbanzo beans, 1tsp. salt and 1/2 cup tahini!  Blend in food processor!  Use pita chips or veggies to dip!

Day 62

Baby Girl spending some time with her daddy.

And yes, he is trying to vacuum the dog  . . . and did not succeed.
Just because the vacuum says "animal" does not mean you use it on an animal!

Day 61

They (the sun and sky) do exist!!
What a great way to start out the month of March!

Monday's Mason

Vol. 4, Chapter X
Humility one with Simplicity - "Humility is perhaps one with Simplicity, and does not allow us to think of ourselves at all, ill or well.  That is why a child is humble.  The thought of self does not come to him at all; when it does, he falls from his child estate and becomes what we call self-conscious.  In that wonderful first lesson of the Garden of Eden, the Fall consisted in our first parents becoming aware of themselves; and that is how we fall - when we become aware."
"Humility sits within us all, waiting for pride to be silent that he may speak and be heard."
