Day 205-211

Wow!  What a week!  Summer is flying by and we have been so busy.  This project is helping me stop (at the end of the week at least) and enjoy some of the busier times!  Oh, yeah, and I was off a day last week, I think, so I tried to correct, but then I visited someone else's Project 365 and my numbers were way off - oh, well, I'll see where I end up at the end of the year!

Day 205-Sunday, July 25th

Finally!  Baby Girl did not sleep much today.  Our church times are different for the summer, so she was falling asleep on the way home, but didn't stay asleep.  I thought she'd take a great afternoon nap then, but that didn't happen?!  When she was finally out for the night, it was a relief for all of us!

Day 206-Monday, July 26th
Can you spot the boy?  This week seems to have been all about L from my pictures, maybe I was just trying to capture some of my boy before and after his birthday.

Day 207-Tuesday, July 27th
Caught - reading!  The older two boys started the Harry Potter series this past week.  This is where I frequently find J.  And I frequently hear "just let me finish this page".

Day 208-Wednesday, July 28th
They both get excited when someone arrives!

Day 209-Thursday, July 29th
Happy Birthday L!  J had to show the dog again at the Elkhart County Fair, so I took the boys for the afternoon and hubby brought the dog at show time (sounded like a good idea at the time, but made for a very, very long day).  All L wanted to do for his day was ride the Ferris wheel (check!) . . .

and eat an elephant ear (check!) - he is so easy to please!  I hope you had a wonderful birthday 10 year old!

Day 210-Friday, July 30th
Time for a birthday party!  Can you guess what the theme was?  (Yes, the knife was real and carefully handed back to Papa after the photo-op).

Day 211-Saturday, July 31st
What a beautiful day!  We went to a cookout at hubby's aunt's house and spent some quality time with relatives.  Baby Girl loved playing with Grandpa's hat!

Happy Birthday 10 year old!

Happy Birthday L!  I can't believe you are double digits now!
Hope you have a wonderful day!

L and his favorite pastime - reading!

Day 198-205

Day 198, Sunday, July 18th
Pool party at the Bollenbacher's!  Our wonderful hosts of a wonderful time!

Day 199, Monday, July 19th
It was beautiful . . . I don't think the picture does it justice!

Day 200, Tuesday, July 20th
Does anyone else use baking soda/water mix for a bee sting or is it just something I learned from my mom?  It was only a sweat bee and I am not sure if it really helps or was just psychological for M.

Day 201, Wednesday, July 21st
South Bend Silverhawks game with the family thanks to a vendor at hubby's work!  You gotta love free tickets and free food!  When we were talking about going, the boys were so excited - "free food - that means we can eat as much as we want too!"  We (Baby Girl) didn't make it through the whole game, but we came away with 2 baseballs!

Day 202, Thursday, July 22nd
We had some a friend and her two kiddos over for dinner and I took this picture for his Daddy who is in Afganistan - just what every soldier wants to see, his boy loving a baby doll!

Day 203, Friday, July 23rd
Four-wheeling/dirt-biking in the sweltering heat!  Getting dirty like boys like to do!

Day 204, Saturday, July 24th
Obedience judging for 4-H Dog Club at the fair.  J and Toby did great - Toby just needs a little more work sitting/standing still for 1-3 minutes.  And if you know our dog, that is a tall order!

Play Date

We had a play date last Wednesday - Baby Girl and Rylan liked to hang out . . .

Isn't she a cutie!

Baby Girl was not so sure about sharing some of her stuff . . . and what is in her mouth?

See Mom, I still fit!

Look what I found!

I think they had fun together!

Day 191-197

Day 191, Sunday, July 11th
I guess after all the birthday hullabaloo, I forgot to take a picture!

Day 191, Monday, July 12th
Baby Girl's birthday!  And I thought she was getting big . . . but this picture shows just how big J is getting!

Day 193, Tuesday, July 13th
We had my nephew stay overnight.  I just love the little guys playing cars.

Day 194, Wednesday, July 14th
I had the privilege of watching a good friend's daughter for the evening.  These two are only 5 months apart.  What fun it was to watch them interact.  I'll have to post on the the evening and how Baby Girl did!  Too funny!

Day 195, Thursday, July 15th
Baby Girl has never played with bubbles before!  How did that happen?!  Her big brothers are glad to introduce her to them - I think she likes them!

Day 196, Friday, July 16th
L and M are ready for their Kid's Triathalon on Saturday!

Day 197, Saturday, July 17th
They did it - they completed the kid's triathalon - swim 25 yds, bike 1.5 miles, run  1/2 mile!  As L has been waiting for the chance to say, "Been there, done that, got the t-shirt" - and the medal to prove it!  I am so proud of them both.  This was a new experience and they had fun and gave it their all!  Good job boys!  (My husband filled me in later, that L really gave it his all and broke down after this pic - he pushed himself to his limit)

Just one more . . .

My father-in-law just sent this one and I had to share it!  Talk about the center of attention!  Except, I don't think she ever realized it!

A First Birthday Party

Baby Girl was surrounded by friends and family for her 1st birthday.  I don't think she quite understood what was going on!  She became shy when we all started singing (either that or we sounded really bad) and tried to hide her head in my shoulder.

Present time!  Even the boys were excited to see what she would get!
I think she like the card a little too much!

She was not really interested in opening the presents . . .
until . . . is that a . . . baby doll?!
This little one likes her baby dolls!
We'll have to work on who gets the bottle!

Thanks to all the family and friends who helped us celebrate!

Uncle Rodney and Aunt Jennifer (and boys)

Uncle Wendell (and Bentley)

Aunt Rachael, Hannah, Makenna and Rylan

Grandma Books

The Curtis Family!

Grandma and Grandpa Gorbics

and Nana and Papa - of whom I didn't get a picture (gasp!)!

12 months = 1 year old!

Baby Girl is 12 months old today!  She is such a blessing!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Here is a look back through the year!

Day 185-91

Day 185, Sunday, July 4th
We didn't do much for the holiday, just hung out and relaxed.  Baby Girl loves to play in her pool . . .
until she tries to get out of it . . .Daddy thought it was funny that she ended up with a face full of grass!

Day 186, Monday, July 5th
What a long weekend is good for - getting some projects started around the house.  The plants will come this fall.  And the big patch of grasses and flowers to the right will come out sometime.

Day 187, Tuesday, July 6th
I have Hydrangea envy!  These beauties are from my in-laws.  I planted 6 a couple of years ago and they are no longer around . . . can't help but wonder if they could have looked like this!

Day 188, Wednesday, July 7th
It's been hot around here the last couple of days - time to hit the pool!

Day 189, Thursday, July 8th
Karate belt test for L today!  He went from blue with a white stripe to . . .
all blue!  Way to go!

Day 190, Friday, July 9th
The boys spent the afternoon and night with their cousins . . . which means somebody was missing them!

Day 191, Saturday, July 10th
Time for a birthday party!  Baby girl is turning 1!  And of course, that means cake with lots of pink icing!
